She’s quirky, she’s chic and she has rockin’ style– here’s super cool Bestie Konisis of the capricious club.
Bestie is a copywriter and a self-described style chameleon who has been making such huge waves in the local blogosphere since she started blogging a few years ago. With a slew of online fashion features on websites such as Candymag, Hypeed, Runway Daily & MTV Style and a guest blogging stint on international shapewear brand Vedette’s website under her belt, Bestie is indeed a serious sartorial force to be reckoned with. And as if these are not enough to convince us of her undeniable fashion street creds, she also adds “shoe muse” to the list—local shoe brand Gold Dot released a style inspired by this stylemeister: the Bestie Clogs. Congratulations on your awesome, Bestie.

According to this 25-year old stunner, who we think kind of looks a bit like model Rissa Manaquil (wouldn’t you guys agree? 
), her style can go from preppy to edgy to menswear depending on her mood, and to feed her insatiable thirst for all things fashion, Bestie makes it a habit to shop everywhere—malls, online stores (Etsy and Ebay) thrift shops and ukay-ukays. This style kitten sure knows where to snag those eclectic treasures to complete her chic ensembles.
If we were to describe Bestie’s inherently unique style, we’d probably brand it as a wild cross between Zooey Deschanel’s quirky, vintage vibe and Kate Moss’s casual glam style, but since we are well aware that her style is in a perpetual state of fashion flux, we reckon there really is no clear-cut way of describing it. One thing we know for sure is that we are definite fans of Bestie’s ever-changing quirky-cool look, which is why we’re not surprised by how she has become quite a hit on fashion sites like Chictopia, Lookbook and Tumblr with hundreds of adoring fashion fans from all over the globe.
Get to know more about Bestie from our short interview with her below:
1. Can you tell us more about your blog, The Capricious Club? How did it come about and what is your main focus?
I started my blog in January 2008, when I was starting to really get involved in this online fashion community called wardrobe_remix on Flickr. I noticed that a lot of my favorite members were branching out into their own separate blogs where they talked about their outfits – and lives – in greater detail. So I decided to start one, too! On the capricious club, I ramble on about my love for fashion (mostly through my daily outfits), plus a few random tidbits here and there.
2. Describe your personal style.
It’s a little bit of everything, really. I experiment with a whole lot of styles – from preppy to edgy to menswear – and I love trying out new things. But mostly I go for the “quirky factor”; something unexpected and fun!
3. What type of shoes do you like wearing (please be specific– colors, type, material, etc.)?
Although I love wearing shoes with a bit of height, I must say oxfords are what truly make me happy. Whether it be plain lace-ups, printed, or brogue-style, I find that oxfords go with just about anything and make you look effortlessly chic.
4. Describe your ultimate dream shoe.
I absolutely ADORE the Burberry platform loafer booties. I think they’re perfect! I’d probably tweak it a bit by making the front more loafer-like (perhaps with some tassels?). I just love the idea of taking a classic menswear staple and taking it up a notch.
5. If you had to wear just 1 pair of shoes from your closet for the rest of your life, which pair would you choose and why?
This pair of vintage leather brogues I got on eBay a couple of years ago. They’re white with a brown tip and I am obsessed with them.

Bestie’s TOP 5 Fashion Essentials:
- Top: crisp white button-down shirt, plain white t-shirt, denim shirt, structured blazer, biker jacket
- Bottom: dark wash skinny jeans, “worn in” boyfriend jeans, pleated maxi skirt in a neutral color, good-fitting trousers in a bold color (like royal blue, burgundy or mustard), pleated mini skirt
- Bag: clutch for casual days, clutch for formal occasions, brown satchel, black shoulder or hand bag, cute printed canvas tote
- Shoes: black ballet flats, oxfords (or loafers) in a neutral shade like brown or tan, basic black boots, printed wedges, stylish flat sandals
- Accessories/Jewelry: statement ring, gold or copper cuff, detachable collar, sunglasses, fedora
- Makeup: BB cream, concealer (I use Makeup Forever Extreme Camouflage Cream), blush-on (NARS Orgasm really is a universally flattering shade), bold red lipstick (or bright pink, if red is too much for you), eyelash curler + mascara
